Your Questions, Answered
What is Jimmy Johnson's Fisherman's Cove?
Fisherman's Cove is a private waterfront residence club in Key Largo. It includes six furnished three-bedroom residences, private club amenities, a rooftop owners' area, swimming facilities, a fitness center, a private dock and club-maintained boats.
Is ownership considered real estate?
Yes. Each interest is represented by a recorded real-estate deed and title-insurance policy. Owners receive a one-eighth undivided interest in a furnished club residence.
Is this a traditional timeshare?
Ownership at Fisherman's Cove is deeded real estate. Each owner holds a recorded one-eighth undivided interest that may be sold, transferred, inherited or placed in a trust, and owners enjoy access to all club residences rather than being limited to a single unit and fixed week.
How frequently may owners visit?
Owners may reserve stays of up to three weeks at a time in any residence, with maximum annual usage of six weeks. Additional weeks may become available when inventory goes unreserved, and planned, space-available and short-notice visits are all accommodated through the club's reservation process.
How many ownership interests are available?
Ownership is limited to eight deeded interests per residence — 48 owners across the club's six residences.
Do owners always stay in the same residence?
No. Owners may use any available residence. Specific residences may be requested but are not guaranteed.
Can an owner reserve more than one residence?
Owners may reserve additional residences when availability permits, subject to club reservation policies.
How are high-demand dates assigned?
A rotating priority system distributes peak vacation periods fairly among owners during the annual reservation process.
May owners invite guests?
Yes. Owners may bring guests or allow guests to use a confirmed vacation reservation, subject to current club policies.
Are lodging fees charged?
Owners are not charged nightly lodging fees. Housekeeping and optional services — such as pre-arrival groceries, boat fuel or spa treatments — carry separate charges.
How are boats reserved?
The club maintains two boats — a 24' Contender and a 24' Sea Fox — available to owners on one-day reservations during scheduled stays. Owners bringing a privately owned boat simply notify management in advance.
Are annual fees required?
Yes. Annual fees support staffing, management, maintenance, utilities, insurance, taxes, reserves and the club's boats.
